Description
Kaffekapslen are proud to offer our very own Americano. An Americano or Café Americain is a popular drink in cafés in South Europe, and we have developed our own version.
An Americano is a type of Espresso, and the name originates from the fact that, during the war, the American soldiers were not so keen on the strong Espresso they were served in Italy. To soften the taste, they asked for more water to be added to the cup, and this became popularly known in Italy as an Americano.
An Americano is often confused with a Lungo, but they are not quite the same. A Lungo is an Espresso technique where an Espresso is brewed for a longer period of time. An Americano, on the other hand, is a traditional Espresso, brewed using the standard method. A Lungo is reminiscent in style and taste to a regular coffee, while an Americano is more reminiscent of a regular Espresso, just a little milder in taste.
Today, an Americano is a standard coffee almost always served in cafés in Southern Europe.
If you love a good Espresso, but might prefer a slightly milder taste, an Americano is a great alternative.
We deliver our Americano at reasonable prices, and in pods that fit in your Dolce Gusto® machine.
